Q:What will my pictures look like?
Unlike most school pictures, our unique portraits are typically taken outdoors, allowing for a natural, softly focused background. The outdoor setting also helps the students to relax, creating a portrait that parents are proud to display. Please read your order form for specific information about possible weather delays. If necessary, photos may be taken indoors in front of a green screen, which is replaced in the final prints by an outdoor backdrop.
Q:What should my child wear to Picture Day?
Our photography looks best when your child wears colorful clothes that are neat and comfortable. Their portraits could potentially show most of the upper torso and even the tops of legs, so be sure they wear an outfit that is appropriate for this composition. Hats are not usually allowed, so please remember that if a child wears a hat to school on Picture Day, their hairstyle could be affected by it. Please also keep in mind that our photographers are not permitted to make physical contact with the children and therefore, will not be able to fix their hair, straighten their clothing, etc. If you have specific style requests, please tell our photographer during Picture Day or staple a note to the outside of your child's order form.
Q:Will my child's picture be used in the school yearbook?
To obtain this information, you should contact the yearbook advisor at your child's school.
Q:Can I make copies of the portraits on my own?
No. Coffee Pond Photography's images are protected under copyright law and therefore cannot legally be copied without permission. You may purchase a "Go Green" Digital Sharing File, though, which would give you ownership of the image and allow you to reproduce the portrait as often as you like. Purchasing the "Go Green" Digital Sharing File will also enable you to share the image with family and friends. Q:How long does it take to receive my picture order?
Portrait packages will be delivered to schools for distribution to students approximately 4-6 weeks after Picture Day. Coffee Pond Photography is not responsible for distribution once the packages have been delivered to the school.
Q:Can I order more portraits after I receive my picture order?
Absolutely! Reorders can be placed online at www.coffeepond.com/sch_portraits.asp or you can reorder by calling our Customer Care department at (800) 632-2323 extension 0.
Q:How do I order pictures?
It's simple! Prior to Picture Day your child will bring home an order form. Either fill out the form for your child turn it in to the photographer during Picture Day or order online at www.coffeepond.com. Please be aware that if you place an online order after Picture Day, a $6.00 handling fee will apply. If you order by mail after Picture Day, there is also a $6.00 handling fee and the order form & payment must be mailed directly to Coffee Pond Photography. Additional order forms may be available at the school office. Please read your order form for specific details. Some schools have special situations with different ordering instructions.
Q:What if I miss the order deadline?
Don't worry. We photograph everyone during Picture Day, whether or not an order has been placed. If you miss the deadline and you still wish to purchase a package, you can either order online or mail your order form directly to us. Keep in mind that there is a $6.00 late fee for all orders placed after Picture Day. Please also remember that late orders may not be distributed at the same time as the other students' orders. Late orders may be delivered to the school or mailed directly to your home within approximately 3-4 weeks of the day they're received.
Q:Can I order just one picture?
Our order forms have several packages to choose from and we strive to accommodate a variety of portrait needs by offering a la carte options, as well. Only the options that are listed on the order form & on the website are available for purchase. There are no exceptions or customizing. Q:What if my child missed the original Picture Day?
No problem. If your child is absent or unavailable on the original Picture Day, he or she can be photographed during the Retake Day, which is usually scheduled to take place a few weeks after the original packages are distributed. You will not be charged the $6.00 handling fee if your child misses Picture Day, as long as the order is turned in to the photographer on Retake Day or placed online before the original picture day.
Q:What if I don't like my pictures?
If you're unhappy with the results of your child's portrait for any reason, you may elect to have a retake or to receive a refund. Retake Day is typically scheduled to take place shortly after the original portrait packages are distributed. If you choose to have your child's portrait retaken, please have your child bring the original package to school to hand in to the photographer during Retake Day. Be sure to keep the class photo, as they will not be reprinted. We cannot produce a new package until the original one is returned to us in full. If your child is in elementary school, please let his/her teacher know in advance that you wish for your child to participate in Retake Day. If you would like a refund, print this form, fill it out and mail it to us along with the entire, undamaged package within one month of receipt.
Q:Can I purchase portraits from the previous year?
If you wish to purchase prints from previous years, please e-mail our Customer Care Lifeguards, or call (800) 632-2323 extension 0 for availability information. We will only be able to process these requests during our off-season, from February through August. Orders for portraits from previous years cannot be processed between September and December. Please be aware that an additional handling fee will be added to your order.
